Description

American Traveler is hiring a Surgical ICU RN for a Level II Trauma Center offering night shifts, requiring a CT/Compact RN license and at least 1 year of SICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Surgical ICU (SICU) of a short-term acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center designation
• Part of a large health system with 426 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of SICU experience required (2 years preferred; 1.5 years accepted with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, and arterial/central line care
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in ETT and NT suctioning
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients including cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, and drip titration
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital to be eligible, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved
