Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry position requiring an active IA or compact license and prior tele experience.
Details
- Med/Surg-Tele unit at a Level 3 Trauma Center, specializing in post-op urology, surgical, and oncology patients (prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, thyroidectomy)
- General medical/surgical floor caring for post-op patients requiring overnight stays
- Administers Heparin drips
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, with 36 or 48 hour/week options available
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to other Med/Surg-Tele units across local campuses
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active IA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
- Current NIHSS certification
- 2+ years of Med Surg/Tele experience required
- Supervisory reference/performance evaluation completed within the last two years required
- Valid driver's license required
Additional Information
- Contribute professional and clinical expertise as part of an interdisciplinary care team
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
- Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday periods in late November and late December
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Prior UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) within the past 12 months are not eligible for travel assignments in another market
