Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with strong scrub and circulating skills for a 13-week travel assignment in a specialty surgical hospital setting.
Details
- Operating Room unit within a hospital specializing in orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures
- Serves a patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric
- Performs both inpatient and outpatient surgical cases
- Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts, approximately 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- On-call requirements include 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month
- May be required to cover holidays as needed
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years of current OR experience required
- Scrub and circulating experience required, with skills checklist current within 1 year
- Ortho/Neuro surgical experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must have own reliable transportation due to rural location with no public transit
- One supervisory reference from within the past two years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include preparing and setting up the OR for scheduled procedures, verifying supplies and instruments, assessing patient positioning and special needs, performing sponge/sharps/instrument counts, and accurate charge capture
- Must work two required holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
- Time off requests must be submitted and approved prior to offer, with no more than 5 days of RTO accepted
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered for this position
- 8 hours of non-billable orientation required
