Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with strong neuro background and ventilator competency for a fast-paced recovery unit.

Details

• Work in the Recovery Unit (PACU) with 19 beds in Main PACU and 4 beds in Atrium PACU
• Care for post-anesthesia patients including unstable ICU and pediatric cases
• Patient ratios of 2:1 standard, 1:1 for unstable ICU, and 1:1 for pediatric patients
• Day shift schedule with waterfall start times (8am, 9am, 11am, 12pm) on 9, 10, or 12 hour shifts
• Night shift includes on-call responsibilities after 9:30pm
• Uses ventilators, Phillips and GE monitors, and Sigma Spectrum pumps
• Meditech EMR used
• No floating required
• Typical procedures include PCA pump setup, drip titration, and arterial line blood draws

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU or ICU experience required
• Strong neuro background required
• Ventilator competency required
• ICU or PACU experience, drip titration, and neurosurgery experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care including monitoring, drip titration, and line management
• Work within a team of RNs, a Clinical Coordinator, and Department Assistants
• Navy scrub attire required
• Strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and reliability are valued traits
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
