Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring at least 3 years of L&D experience and couplet care skills.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
• Unit includes 4 labor beds, 4 triage beds, and 13 obstetric beds
• Provides care across L&D, postpartum, couplet care, and hysterectomy patients requiring basic med-surg skills
• Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
• Floating within the hospital required as needed
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), NRP
• AWHONN certification required for fetal monitoring
• STABLE certification preferred
• AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in antepartum, postpartum, and obstetric triage care
• Experience with high-risk antepartum, couplet care, and postpartum hemorrhage management preferred
• Proficient in fetal monitoring including EFM and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Two professional references required, completed within the last two years by a supervisor
• Current Nursys license verification required, pulled within the last 7 days
• Proof of COVID vaccination required, with exemption documentation if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and couplet care units
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and related surgical procedures
• Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and initial newborn care
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
• Scrubs are provided
• Must work at least one holiday during the assignment
• Flexible RTO policy, though holiday coverage is required
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced pay rate
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies for standard travel pay eligibility
• Previous staff must have been separated for at least one year and remain in good standing to be considered for return, except local candidates who are not eligible to return
• Flexible contract length and schedule negotiable during interview
