Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level 4 acute care unit requiring at least 2 years of Level 4 (or busy Level 3) neonatal ICU experience.

Details

• Level 4 NICU with 71 beds, including 17 stepdown beds and 4 private rooms
• Patient ratios of 1:2 in ICU and 1:3 in Level 2
• Charge nurse role available with no patient assignment, also serving as a high-risk RN resource
• 1 PCT per shift supports nursing staff
• Cerner EMR used for charting
• 12-hour day shifts, 7a-7p
• 4 total weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) per 4-week schedule
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs
• Floating to Mother Baby and Labor & Delivery (for babies only) may be required
• Neonatologist and midlevel providers in house 24/7, with RT coverage 24/7 and NICU pharmacy available during the day
• RT manages ventilators; Philips telemetry equipment used
• 2-3 days of floor-specific orientation provided

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• BLS and NRP certification required; Cardiac STABLE certification a plus
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• At least 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required (busy Level 3 experience considered)
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Must pass a Day 1 SIMs Lab competency check for sterile technique, including Foley catheter insertion
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for premature infants and patients with cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical needs, ECMO, and cooling therapy
• Navy scrub color required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as verified by driver's license

• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and Dignity Health, within the past year
