Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Stepdown RN for a 22-bed adult oncology unit requiring SC or compact RN license and 2 years of med surg experience with frequent floating to stepdown/PCU and telemetry units.

Details

• 22-bed adult MS/Oncology unit (5T)
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Frequent floating between Med Surg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units required
• Stepdown ratios 1:4-5, Med Surg ratios 1:5-6
• Weekday schedule with every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating expectations
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Care for adult med surg and oncology patients with frequent transitions to stepdown/telemetry care
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy, central/PICC line management, telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip titration, and wound care
• Must be comfortable with high floating expectations across Med Surg, Stepdown, and Tele units
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Facility will not consider candidates with license or background issues
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and left in good standing to be considered
• Minimal to no RTO accepted, especially during the first weeks of assignment
