Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring an active CA RN license and NRP certification.
Details
- Level III NICU setting caring for surgical and premature neonates from 23 weeks gestation and up
- Provides care including cooling therapy, all respiratory modes, PICC lines, bronchoscopy, LISA, VCUG, MRI, swallow studies, and line insertion
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
- No on-call responsibilities
- Every other weekend required
- Float to peds, PICU, and nursery units as needed
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with an EMR/charting system required (any system accepted)
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Care for a complex neonatal population including cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, infectious disease, neurologic, and respiratory conditions
- Manage arterial lines, central/implanted lines, UAC, and UVC
- Administer emergency medications including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
- Manage ventilator settings across multiple modes (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before reapplying
