Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 3+ years of ICU/CCU experience and a valid California RN license.

Details

• ICU/CCU setting with night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend required
• Possible float to DOU, Tele, or Med Tele units
• Allscripts charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active California RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of ICU/CCU experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, MAB or VIP, NIHSS
• CCRN certification preferred
• Proficiency in FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration required
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol (Arctic Sun) experience required
• Chronic/acute renal failure management experience required; CRRT/CVVHD experience preferred
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and sheath removal experience preferred
• Ultrasound-guided PIV and Level 1/Rapid Infuser experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• References required for consideration
• Copies of required certifications must be submitted for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU/CCU patients, including ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring management
• Perform emergency medication administration and procedural sedation monitoring
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and manage surgical wounds with drains or wound vacs
• Adhere to infection prevention and isolation precaution protocols including proper PPE use
• Must pass an onsite advanced EKG exam (80% or higher) within two attempts prior to start; failure results in assignment cancellation
• Complete required clinical and non-clinical training modules prior to start, varying by specialty
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 3 RTO days allowed for the full contract
• Must be willing to work holidays
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous travelers preferred; first-time travelers not preferred
• Returning staff considered on a case-by-case basis
