Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level I/II Trauma Center position requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications along with a VA or compact RN license.
Details
- Emergency Department setting within a Level I and Level II Trauma Center
- 13-week assignment with evening shift (4x12 hours, 15:00-03:00)
- Weekend work required with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license (pending accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending but must be obtained before start)
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- At least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience, including some pediatric experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Nursys verification required
- Two professional references required
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care including triage in a high-acuity trauma center setting
- Maximum 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, with all time off disclosed at submission
- Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
- Specialty-specific orientation modules completed during onboarding, recorded in Workday
- Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers must disclose employment history; a 1-year separation and leadership approval is required for returning staff
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once that threshold is reached
- No radius rule applies for local candidates in this unit
