Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a low-volume OB unit requiring NRP and STABLE certifications along with a compact or ME RN license.

Details

• Work in a critical access hospital's OB-GYN unit with 25 total beds
• Unit includes 2 Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms, 1 Triage room, 3 Postpartum/Gynecological rooms, and a Newborn Nursery
• Low birth volume department with fewer than 125 births per year
• May be required to float to a low acuity med-surg unit during periods of low census
• Uses Cerner charting system
• 12-hour night shifts (7P-7A), 36 hours per week
• Anesthesia services available 24/7 for unit support

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or Maine state license required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery specialty
• Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN) certification preferred
• 2 references within the past year, including at least one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Director (Charge RN acceptable, no peer references)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn nursery settings
• Work under department leadership with dedicated anesthesia support
• Free parking available on-site
• Flu vaccination required for clearance to start, with medical exemptions only accepted subject to facility approval
• Candidates must not have previously worked in a permanent capacity at any Northern Light Health hospital
• Radius requirement applies based on distance from the facility, subject to case-by-case approval
