Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level 3 NICU position requiring 2+ years of NICU experience and the ability to work independently on night shifts.
Details
- Level 3 NICU with 36 beds, typically 18-20 patients
- Works with NICU patients and floats to adult general and critical care populations
- 12-hour shifts, 7a-7p and 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- Voluntary on-call availability
- Uses Cerner EMR, Omnicell medication dispensing, Spacelabs monitors
- Ventilator equipment includes PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, Airvo, and 3100A Oscillator
- May float to any like unit or patient location, including adult units
Requirements
- BLS and NRP required for NICU; ACLS/APLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 3 NICU required
- RRT preferred, CRT considered with at least 2 years of experience
- Cerner or Epic EMR experience required for first-time travelers
- Skilled in adult general and critical care
- Experience with ground transports and Nitric Oxide administration; transport experience preferred
- Must be able to work independently as the sole NICU RRT on nights
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Provides respiratory therapy care across NICU and adult patient populations
- May be the only NICU RRT on duty during night shifts
- New or returning travelers (out 1+ year) receive 24 hours of classroom orientation and 24 hours on-unit
- Holiday coverage includes one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy
- Up to 7 days of time off can be pre-approved, excluding facility blackout dates
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Free parking available in on-site deck
- First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience and Cerner or Epic EMR experience
- Former perm staff must wait 6 months before being eligible as a traveler
- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
