Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring a CA RN license and 3+ years of Emergency Department experience.

Details

• Emergency Department setting at a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Weekend shifts required depending on department needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within the hospital based on census, no floating to other units required
• Utilizes EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• 1 professional reference required (within 2 years)
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and interpreting cardiac monitoring
• Experience in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience treating trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred
• Pediatric emergency experience including head injury, near drowning, and seizure care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
• Administer procedural sedation, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors as needed
• Time off must be pre-approved and submitted at time of consideration; no additional time off requests accepted afterward
• Local candidates accepted, though at a lower pay rate for those within 50 miles of the facility
• Previous permanent staff of the facility are not eligible for this position
• First-time travelers accepted if they have 3-5 years of ER experience
