Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an IMC/Stepdown position requiring telemetry, oncology, cardiac, vent and transplant experience along with a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit (D6/5) and IMC Thoracic unit (B4/3)
• Day/evening 12-hour shifts, 7:00am-7:30pm, Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Floating required as needed across units
• Utilizes Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI RN or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• Epic EMR experience required, within the past 12 months preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required, Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm identification
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team activation
• Skilled in vasoactive drip titration, insulin protocols, and wound care/wound vac management
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath, cardiac surgery, and hemodialysis management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac, telemetry, and progressive care patients across two IMC units
• Manage dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac emergency response on the unit
• Perform wound care, insulin titration, and surgical drain management as needed
• Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the position
• Onsite parking requires a permit through UW Transportation; alternative transportation options available
