Description
American Traveler is hiring a Level III NICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring CA RN licensure and NRP certification.
Details
- Level III NICU setting caring for surgical neonates and infants 23 weeks gestation and up
- Cares for neonates with cardiovascular, dysrhythmia, gastrointestinal, infectious disease, neurologic, and respiratory needs
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Utilizes cooling therapy, all respiratory ventilation modes, PICC, bronchoscopy, LISA, VCUG, MRI, swallow studies, and line insertion procedures
- Performs central line, UAC, and UVC care, along with IV vasopressor, surfactant, and steroid administration
- Manages ventilator settings including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
- No on-call requirements
- Every other weekend required
- Float to pediatrics, PICU, and nursery as needed
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Experience with any charting system required
- Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and IV therapy
- Experience with oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement and management
- Experience with neonatal feeding methods including bottle, breast, and gavage
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Delivers comprehensive neonatal intensive care including respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurologic support
- Manages care for infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local rate
- Returning travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before reapplying
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday allowed per contract
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- Candidates may only apply to one Sutter Health facility at a time
