Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring an active Illinois RN license and at least three years of applicable nursing experience.
Details
- Surgery/Endoscopy unit within a hospital setting
- Monday through Friday schedule, 0730-1600
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
- Weekend rotation required approximately once per month
- Holiday shift rotation required
- May float to other Carle Health hospital locations
- Epic EMR charting required
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing
- BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of three years of applicable nursing experience
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browser use
- Strong critical thinking and independent judgement skills
- Multicultural sensitivity
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care using the nursing process within an interdisciplinary team
- Develops and modifies individualized care plans based on patient assessment and evidence-based practice
- Performs bedside lab testing and associated quality control per hospital procedures
- Demonstrates technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoots as needed
- Utilizes lift equipment safely to promote patient and staff safety
- Collaborates with team members to coordinate patient care from admission to discharge
- Provides goal-focused shift reporting and advocates for patients as needed
- Adheres to assigned weekly, weekend, and holiday call shifts per hospital policy
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on assignment longer than 1 year without a 6-month break in service before returning to any Carle Health location
- Travel partners are not accepted for this position
