Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center with pediatric emergency capabilities, requiring 2 years of ER and charge nurse experience.

Details

• Emergency Department setting within a Level II Trauma Center with Pediatric ED capabilities
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:30), with 36 or 48 hour options
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs, with brief unit orientation provided

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact license accepted if obtained prior to start
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (CPI, NIHSS, NRP/ENPC, STABLE, and TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Experience managing neurological emergencies including CVA and neuro-trauma
• Experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic injuries
• Pediatric emergency experience including head injury and near drowning preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• OB emergency delivery and neonatal emergency experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive emergency care across trauma, cardiac, neurological, pediatric, and orthopedic cases
• First-time travelers considered if candidate has 2-3 years of experience in Progressive/Acute ER settings
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted for this assignment
