Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) of a hospital environment
• Cares for cardiac telemetry, renal, neurological, and post-cardiac surgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to Telemetry or Med-Surg units if overstaffed, with travelers floating first
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (WA or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown nursing experience required
• Cardiac drip titration and management experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide care in a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, respiratory support, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and central/peripheral line management
• Scrubs of any color accepted for RN staff
• No parking fees at this facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), with a choice of either Thanksgiving or Christmas off
• RTO must be submitted upfront during consideration; requests after offer may not be accommodated
• Only one Providence facility submission allowed at a time
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are subject to the local bill rate policy
