Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a general OR position requiring CNOR certification, charge experience, and an active MD or Compact RN license.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• Rotating schedule of 5x8-hour and 2x12-hour day shifts
• Weekend rotation of 4 shifts per 6-week schedule
• On-call requirement of 4 calls per 6-week period with a 1-hour response time
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• CNOR certification preferred
• CPI certification required for compliance (Calm Every Storm online version only accepted)
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Skilled in general OR surgical scrubbing across multiple specialties including vascular, general, orthopedic, and robotic surgery preferred
• Knowledge of infection control, universal protocol, specimen handling, and emergency management procedures preferred

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and scrubbing duties across a variety of surgical specialties
• Must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and may not qualify for travel rates
• Returning staff must have separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers must be off assignment from the system for at least 6 months before returning
• Scrub attire required in accordance with OR standards
