Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week assignment requiring an active MD or Compact RN license, BLS certification, and prior charge experience.
Details
- General Operating Room setting within a hospital environment
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Weekend rotation required, averaging 4 shifts per 6-week schedule
- On-call responsibilities required, averaging 4 calls per 6-week period with a 1-hour response time
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Floating required within scope, with travelers prioritized to float first
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- CNOR certification preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- CPI certification required for compliance (Calm Every Storm online version only accepted)
Additional Information
- Perform circulating and scrubbing duties across a variety of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, vascular, gynecology, urology, and more
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Candidates must reside 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible unless otherwise specified
- Maximum of 7 consecutive days of requested time off; requests exceeding 4 consecutive days require an additional week added to the back end of new contracts
- Former staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the system after completing an assignment
- Most locations allow one contract extension, after which a 6-month break from the facility/unit is required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
