Description

American Traveler seeks a CCC-SLP for an Inpatient Rehabilitation unit requiring MBSImP and Vital Stim certification along with Idaho SLP licensure.

Details

Inpatient Rehabilitation unit
Treats adult patients with dysphagia, dysarthria, CVA, TBI, degenerative diseases, and tracheostomy/vent needs
Performs bedside swallow evaluations, VFSS/Modified Barium Swallow Studies, cognition, and speech/language assessments
Epic charting system preferred
Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 8:00 to 18:00, on a 7 on/7 off rotation

Requirements

BLS and CCC-SLP certification required
MBSImP and Vital Stim certification required
Idaho SLP license required if applicable
At least 1 year of experience required
Trauma Level II experience preferred
Experience with adaptive equipment, alternative communication devices, Passy Muir valves, trach/vent, and suctioning preferred
Skilled in dysphagia management, compensatory strategies, Frazier Free Water Protocol, and oral motor techniques preferred
Knowledge of patient/family education and recognizing signs of abuse

Additional Information

Conduct evaluations, develop plans of care, and manage discharge planning for inpatient rehab patients
Perform and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies and bedside swallow evaluations
Provide dysphagia management including diet modification and use of thickening agents
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and safety
First-time travelers will be considered for this position
Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
All requested time off must be submitted upfront
