Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift orthopedic trauma unit position requiring 2 years of experience at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Med/Surg Ortho unit within a Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Primary patient population includes orthopedic trauma (spine injuries, femoral fractures, traction) with additional neuro, surgical, vascular, urology, and gyn patients
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4 on days and 1:4-5 on nights
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required (Sat/Sun days, Fri/Sat nights)
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Charge RN experience and Level I trauma experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to orthopedic trauma patients including spine injuries, femoral fractures, and traction cases, along with neuro, surgical, vascular, urology, and gyn patients as needed
• Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I trauma hospital environment
• Scrub requirement includes any solid color scrubs, with light blue scrubs also provided on unit
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
• Prior facility staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
