Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring telemetry experience and floating to any Med/Surg unit.
Details
- Med/Surg unit in a 298-bed teaching hospital
- Unit size ranges from 20 to 34 beds depending on assignment
- Typical patient ratio of 1:6
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Requires 48-hour guaranteed time commitment; 36-hour GT not available
- Every other weekend required, with holiday coverage as needed
- Floating to any Med/Surg unit required
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required in hand at time of profile upload; compact license not accepted
- Current certifications required in hand: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of current Medical/Surgical experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
- Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred
- Must be willing to float to any Med/Surg unit
- Must have own vehicle for this assignment
- Skills checklist for Medical Surgical experience required, current within 1 year
- One supervisory signed reference required, dated within the past two years
- MA RN license document required with profile
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit within a teaching hospital setting
- Dress code allows personal scrubs of any color
- 8 hours of non-billable orientation required
- No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted; all RTO requests must be submitted at time of profile upload
- RTO requests made after upload or during interview will not be approved
- Must be willing to work two holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
- Block scheduling requests will not be considered
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
- Permanent address must be included in candidate profile
