Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a 13-week outpatient surgical services assignment requiring 2+ years of OR experience and an active VA or compact RN license.

Details

Outpatient Pavilion setting within Surgical Services
Handles a variety of case types including General, GYN, Breast/Plastics, Urology, Ortho, Podiatry, and Eyes
Unit has 6 operating rooms with an average daily census of 35
Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
No weekends or holidays required for scheduled shifts
Late stay sign-up required as part of call coverage
On-call required for select areas such as OT, IR, and Cath Lab with a 30-mile/30-minute response requirement
Floating may be required in rotation with client staff per hospital policy
Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
Proficiency across multiple surgical specialties including ortho, breast/plastics, urology, GYN, and general surgery preferred
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Previous charge experience preferred
1:1 patient ratio experience

Additional Information

Provide scrub and circulating support across a wide range of surgical specialties and procedures
Complete up to 7 hours of non-billable orientation modules based on specialty during onboarding
Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Facility is smoke and nicotine free
First-time travelers considered as long as candidate has at least 2 years of prior OR RN experience
Previous VHC staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
RTO requests should be minimal and submitted upfront, with approval at manager discretion
Some holiday coverage should be expected
