Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Oncology for an outpatient infusion center requiring IL RN licensure and ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification.
Details
- Outpatient oncology infusion unit within a Same Day Surgery area, featuring 5 infusion chairs
- Adult oncology patients receiving long-term IV antibiotics, injections, blood and platelet infusions, and chemotherapy agents
- Average of 10 patients per day, with no chemo patients scheduled after approximately 1400
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 0800-1630
- No weekend rotation and no on-call requirements
- Floating required to two additional infusion centers
- EPIC EMR preferred but not required
- Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required
- BLS certification required
- ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient infusion/oncology experience required
- Chemotherapy administration experience required
- Peripheral IV, Port-a-Cath, and PICC line access skills required
- Strong assessment skills with ability to recognize adverse reactions
- Comfortable drawing blood from ports for lab work
- Candidate's middle name/initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Administer chemotherapy, infusions, and injections to adult oncology patients in an outpatient setting
- Work alongside a shared clinic lead, on-site schedulers, one other infusion RN, and access to on-call hospitalist/ED support and rapid response as needed
- General facility orientation plus one shift of unit-specific orientation to learn workflow
- Unit closes on major holidays
- Up to 7 days of requested time off can be approved
- Navy scrub color required
- Free parking available on-site
- First-time travelers accepted, though experienced travelers preferred
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
- Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before eligibility
