Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC/Stepdown position requiring telemetry, oncology, cardiac, vent, and transplant experience in a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Rotates between two IMC units: Acute Med/Progressive Care and Thoracic
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient population
• Day/Evening 12-hour shifts, 7:00am-7:30pm, Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
• Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator management and post-transplant care experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including strict lethal rhythm and heart block identification criteria
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, blood product administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxygen therapy

Additional Information

• Provide care in a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
