Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Acute care Stepdown/PCU unit with 20 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:3, up to 1:4 during medical overflow
• Common diagnoses include cardiac, respiratory, ETOH withdrawal, and renal failure
• Titrates drips including Cardizem, heparin, and amiodarone
• Telemetry unit with monitor techs and RNs reading strips
• Nurse aide support at 1:7 ratio days and 1:11 nights
• Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
• Charge Nurse and House Supervisor support available
• MEDITECH EMR used
• Night shift schedule 1845-0715 with every other weekend required
• On-call for low census only with a 45-minute maximum response time if called in
• Floats first to ICU or Med/Surg

Requirements

• Active RN license (State or Compact) required, pending licenses not accepted
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Acute care experience with cardiac and respiratory patient populations required
• OR license required for this position
• Driver's license required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide acute care nursing to a medically complex PCU patient population
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Holiday coverage required for 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• Scrub dress code: any color/design except purple for tops and pants
• Facility can request a 90-day emergency license if needed
