Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology role requiring ARRT certification and at least 1 year of experience with cardiac and IR procedures.

Details

• Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab along with interventional radiology suite
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Call requirement of minimum 2 days per week and every 3rd weekend
• Uses Acist injector, Siemens and Philips C-arms, Medrad power injector, Rotopro, Diamondback, IVUS, OCT, Shock wave, Rampart, Pneumbra, and Inari equipment
• Cerner charting system preferred
• 100% floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required, though 18 months is typically preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, and ARRT (R) certifications required
• AHA and RQI certifications accepted if current at time of submission
• Prior travel experience required
• Conscious sedation and circulating skills required
• Proficient in cardiac procedures including LHC, RHC, balloon pump placement, temporary and permanent pacemaker/defibrillator insertion, and STEMI response
• Experience with IR procedures including venous access, drain placement, GI tube insertion, PE/DVT treatment, TIPS, PV interventions, fistula work, UFEs, prostate embolization, and GI/postpartum bleed management
• License required if applicable
• Two supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include EKG lead placement, sterile field maintenance, equipment setup, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Perform genitourinary, abdominal/pelvic, and vascular studies including angiography, embolization, angioplasty, and stent placement
• Assist with cardiac cath lab procedures such as PCI, PTCA, rotablator atherectomy, and IABP placement/removal
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Indiana residents are considered local candidates and may be accepted at a lower pay rate for select position types
• Local candidates not accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, or ER positions
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time requires facility approval
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers with 12 months of IU Health travel employment must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state, 6 months for in-state residents)
