Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Sonographer for a premiere cardiac center, requiring dedicated inpatient echo experience and hands-on TAVR pre-treatment scanning of severe to critical aortic stenosis patients.

• Non-Invasive Services unit at a premiere cardiac center
• Perform high quality adult echo studies per ASE and IAC guidelines
• 4x9.5 hour AM shifts, Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun 9a-7p
• 38 hours per week
• No on-call required
• Uses Philips ie33 and Epiq ultrasound systems
• Epic EMR/charting system used
• Potential to float to a sister hospital nearby

Requirements

• Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI
• BLS certification from AHA
• License required if applicable
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases required, verified by institutional referral
• Must have hands-on experience scanning severe to critical aortic stenosis patients prior to TAVR treatment, reflected on resume
• Strong proficiency in valvular assessment, spectral Doppler, and Pedoff techniques
• Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies
• Ability to work independently and quickly recognize and respond to critical findings
• TEE and Stress Echo experience preferred
• Familiarity with 3D echo imaging preferred
• Experience with TAVR, MitraClip, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols preferred
• Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
• Experience with Epic hospital information system preferred

• Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures clearly, and monitor patients throughout ultrasound studies
• Set up equipment and ensure timely, thorough completion of procedures
• Review prior reports, images, and patient charts before scanning
• Ensure proper images are obtained and studies are complete before notifying the reader
• Maintain exam records, logs, and inventory of supplies for the assigned area
• Candidates must have prior experience at a valve center or structural heart facility
• Accepts local candidates at a lower rate
