Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/LDRP position requiring a CO or compact license and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.

Details

• Level 1 trauma acute care hospital setting on the L&D/PP/MB unit
• LDRP unit with 12 L&D beds, 1 OR suite for C-sections, 1 triage bed, and 12 postpartum beds
• Average of 70 births per month
• Patient population includes HTN, pre-eclampsia, preterm labor, and TOLAC cases
• Follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios
• RNs titrate oxytocin drips and read their own fetal monitoring strips (GE EFM system)
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour night shift schedule with self-scheduling allowed within unit needs
• Weekend rotation of 4-5 shifts within a 6-week period
• Holiday coverage required
• On-call requirement of 1 shift of choice within a 6-week schedule block
• Floating limited to helping-hands support throughout the hospital, not a full assignment
• Expected to perform all phases of labor care as part of the LDRP model

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in labor and postpartum required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, all active and current
• Experience with drip titration, including oxytocin, required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Unit supported by charge nurses (who may also take patient assignments), nurse aides, and surgical techs
• OB/neonatologist and anesthesia are not in-house 24/7
• Respiratory therapy equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP) available on unit
• No specific scrub color required; scrub vending machine available onsite with credit provided
• Unit and department-specific orientation provided, totaling 12 hours
• Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, even if initial modules are remote
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers may be considered
