Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVICU experience and a PA or Compact RN license in hand.

Details

• CVICU setting within a Teaching Hospital and Trauma Level I Facility
• Adult patient population with ratios ranging from 1:1 to 3:1
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Floating required
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I facility experience preferred
• Critical Care Float Pool experience preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience managing ventilated patients and BiPAP/CPAP
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care, IABP, and pre/post cardiac cath procedures
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
• Valid references and certification copies required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to adult patients in the CVICU, including pre- and post-cardiac surgery and cardiac intervention patients
• Perform advanced cardiovascular monitoring and interventions such as CVP monitoring, IABP, Impella, and ECMO support where applicable
• Administer and titrate cardiac medications and manage complex hemodynamic conditions
• Collaborate within a specialized cardiovascular critical care team
• Complete required labs within 48 hours of signing and PA fingerprinting within one week of signing
• Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance with up to three attempts allowed
• RTO must be submitted prior to consideration and cannot be added afterward
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a differentiated pay rate
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
