Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Inpatient Rehab position requiring BLS certification and a minimum of 2 years of rehab nursing experience.

Details

• Acute inpatient rehabilitation unit setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Every other weekend required
• Cares for patients with conditions such as CVA, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, and post-craniotomy recovery
• Performs wound care, tracheostomy care, tube feeding management, and telemetry monitoring

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS and CPI preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and administration of blood products preferred
• Experience with orthopedic care including assistive devices, mobilization techniques, and prosthesis application preferred
• Skilled in fall risk assessment, infection prevention, and pressure ulcer prevention preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager or director-level supervisor; charge RN acceptable for the second reference; no coworker references accepted

• Provides comprehensive rehabilitative nursing care including patient teaching, pain management, and lift/transfer assistance
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for assignment consideration after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignment consideration at this health system
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
