Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring a compact or VA RN license and prior travel experience.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12), 19:00-07:00
- Cardiac monitoring, telemetry remote monitoring, and emergency response duties
- Utilizes Rapid Response/Code teams
- Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
- Floating may be required in rotation with staff based on clinical experience and unit policies
- Holiday and weekend coverage expected in rotation with staff
Requirements
- Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BSN not required
- Skills in GI care, bariatric surgery, feeding tube management, respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration), IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral line care/management required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, including monitoring and emergency response support
- Biweekly orientation held on Mondays with 8-10 hours of required training modules
- Scrub policy allows any color and professional prints, with scrub or lab coats permitted
- Nicotine-free campus
- First-time travelers will not be accepted for this role
- Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
- Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no time off requested in the first few weeks
