Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of MICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Care for patients with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, COVID, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure
• Utilizes continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia management
• Manages externalized IV pumps for COVID-positive patients
• Uses NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors, and GE ventilators
• Boom lift equipment available in each patient room

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficient in IV starts
• Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Competency with ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with continuous IV sedation medications
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to complex MICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Manage patients on ventilators and CRRT with continuous IV sedation as needed
• Respond to cardiac emergencies and manage dysrhythmias
• RTO must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Former facility employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away for 6 months or more
• Current facility employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance deadlines
