Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week day-shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting with fewer than 100 births per month
• Provides care across antepartum, L&D, LDRP, mother/baby, and postpartum units
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• May consider 36 hours per week
• Altera charting experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Beginner and Intermediate certifications required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation/recovery, and hemorrhage/shock response
• Experience with fetal monitoring including EFM and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Experience with newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and discharge teaching
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• License must be in hand at time of consideration
• Certification verification required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care areas
• Assist with surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, and tubal ligation
• Support breastfeeding and lactation per baby-friendly protocols
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with mandatory passing required for placement
• Candidates should avoid substances that could result in a positive drug screen, including CBD products, prior to arrival
• Must reside within 150 miles of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a travmust reside within 150 miles of the facility
• Clinicians must complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or provide a completion plan
• Hard document due date is Thursday at 2 PM CST prior to start, with some flexibility case-by-case
