Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 24 months of recent experience and charge nurse capability.

Details

• Med/Surg unit with 15 beds serving all types of med surg patients
• Patient ratios of 4-5:1
• Uses Heparin drips and remote telemetry monitoring
• Days shift, 4x12 hour shifts, 48 hrs/week (36 hrs/week can be accommodated)
• Weekend rotation required, every other or every third weekend depending on census
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float across all campuses (Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist) within contracted skillset/unit
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of recent Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the past 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• Proficiency caring for all med surg patient types required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with Heparin required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Telemetry/cardiac background highly preferred
• Preceptor experience a plus
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred

• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Past UPH employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH market facility
• Department prefers candidates open to extending beyond the initial 13-week assignment
