Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with prior L&D operating room experience to support a hospital's labor, delivery, and OB care unit.
Details
- Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit caring for laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum cases
- Unit includes a 3-bay OBED, 20 labor rooms, 3 ORs, and 3 PACU bays
- Travelers will function in OBED, L&D, and OB PACU but will not circulate OR cases
- Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
- 36 hours per week over 3 days, 0.9 FTE
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Current and active Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification through AWHONN or GE required at time of consideration
- Minimum one year of nursing experience required
- Previous Labor & Delivery operating room experience required
- Must be able to circulate C-sections
- Must be able to triage OB patients
- ADN, ASN, or Nursing Diploma required from an accredited nursing program
- BSN or MSN preferred

- Performs bedside point-of-care testing and patient education as part of care delivery
- Coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team and participates in discharge planning
