Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of OR experience and proficiency circulating and scrubbing across multiple surgical specialties.

Details

• Community hospital setting in the Operating Room department with 14 operating rooms plus coverage in Labor & Delivery for C-sections
• Pediatric to adult patient population
• Provides care across all surgical specialties except cardiac and ophthalmology
• Averages approximately 50 procedures per day
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Afternoon shift, 11a-11p, with flexibility to evenings if needed
• No weekend requirements
• On-call requirement of 1 call per month if needed
• Float requirement to vascular, ortho, trauma, general surgery, robotic surgery, urology, and ENT

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of current OR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Scrub and circulate experience required
• Strong skills in vascular and orthopedic surgery required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must have own vehicle
• Must pass a 14-panel drug screen within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Current supervisory reference from within the past two years required
• Current Nursys license verification and certifications required with profile

Additional Information

• Primarily a circulating role, with scrub experience considered a valuable additional skill
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, pre- and post-operative education, and monitoring patient well-being throughout the surgical care continuum
• Coordinates patient care across the full surgical continuum in collaboration with the surgical team
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Candidates residing in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties will not be considered
• Permanent address must match driver's license or state ID and will be validated during compliance review
• All new and returning staff must complete verbal de-escalation training through Welle, CPI, or PMCS prior to onboarding
• Time off requests must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start; requests after start will not be accommodated
