Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least 2 years of experience and NC or compact RN licensure for a hospital position requiring a passing EKG exam score.
Details
- Med/Surg Tele unit with a primarily Med/Surg patient population
- Cares for observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative/end-of-life/hospice patients, psychiatric observation, diabetic patients, and surgical/surgical observation patients
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00am-7:30pm
- Every other weekend required
- Must work 2 out of 4 holidays
- Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
- Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
- Skills preferred include BiPAP/CPAP management, oral suctioning, blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line care, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, wound care/wound vac, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, and surgical drain management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team activation required

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travel experience is a plus but not required
- RTO must be submitted at time of application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates within that radius are not accepted
- All RNs must pass a pass/fail EKG exam during compliance, regardless of specialty
