Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Emergency Department with 52 beds plus a 4-bed Behavioral Health Unit providing 24/7 all-ages emergency care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:2 with approximately 196 admissions per day
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours weekly
• On-call required if needed, approximately 1 shift per pay period
• Weekend coverage required for 4 shifts within a 6-week period
• Holiday coverage required if needed

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department experience
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI-B certification required
• Experience with point of care testing, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Perform bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Assess patient needs including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and continuously improve patient care
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
