Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring rotating day and night shifts and one year of nursing experience.
Details
- Work in a 16-bed adult ICU managing critical illness, ventilated patients, and post-operative cases
- Patient ratio of 1:2 with average length of stay of 3–7 days
- Rotating day and night shift schedule on a 6-week cycle (typically 3 weeks days, 3 weeks nights)
- 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
- May be scheduled on holidays if there is a need
- Standby call required once per pay period
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI-B
- Minimum one year of nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Experience with point of care testing and care of patients with complex problems

- Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and multidisciplinary care coordination
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and adjust patient care plans
