Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring adult and pediatric ED experience along with TNCC, PALS, and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric populations
• Evening and night shifts on a 3x12 schedule (1500-0330 or 1900-0730), with 8-hour shifts as needed
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS (AHA only), and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months
• Experience in a 40+ bed ED preferred
• High acuity ED experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required, Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required, minimum six months, with extensions highly preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and orthopedic cases
• Perform skills such as IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• Administer emergency medications including vasopressors and procedural sedation
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Handle high-acuity trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Apply isolation precautions and PPE, and perform triage duties
• Assist with orthopedic trauma care including splint application
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• References are not required for consideration
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
