Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist for a Level 1 trauma acute care setting requiring 2+ years of cath lab experience and ARRT and BLS certification.

Details

• Cardiac Cath Lab department separate from IR and EP
• 6 procedure suites/labs with an average of 10 to 15 cases per day
• 10-hour day shifts with call requirements
• Rotating weekends and holidays with on-call rotation, typically 8-9 shifts per month
• Call response time of 30 minutes from time of page
• Uses EPIC EMR, PACS, and McKesson cardiology systems
• Techs are not currently required to float

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of previous cath lab experience required
• ARRT and BLS certification required
• IEMA certification required
• Active IL license required if applicable
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required
• McKesson cardiology PACS experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating during procedures
• Cardiologist physicians are on call 24/7, 365 days a year
• Primary charge nurse covers 0600-1530 and does not routinely complete cases but will take call
• Unit-specific orientation typically lasts 3 to 5 days
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital
• Mandatory call list utilized when staff cannot fulfill their call shift
• Local candidates accepted with no radius rule for eligibility
