Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night-shift position requiring prior charge experience and a valid OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:30-07:00), 36 hours/week
• Weekend shifts required
• Uses Epic charting system
• Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs

Requirements

• Valid OK or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: NRP, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Travel experience preferred, though candidates with similar ED experience will be considered
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, trauma, and cardiac monitoring scenarios
• Experience managing dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, and performing 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Skilled in orthopedic splinting and ortho trauma care

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive emergency care in a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Manage shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Responsible for identifying and reporting suspected neglect or abuse
• Care for patients presenting with acute psychosis, suicidal ideation, and other behavioral health emergencies
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and manage arterial and central lines as needed
• Support patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, and airway management
• Administer emergency medications including vasopressors and procedural sedation
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
• Former permanent staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
