Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU position at a children's ICU-level facility, requiring 2+ years of experience and RRT certification.

Details

• Children's ICU level unit within a NICU setting
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend (EOW) schedule required
• Mandatory floating, including as Patient Observer/sitter, may float anywhere in the organization
• Cerner charting system preferred but not required for consideration

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current RRT certification, pending license acceptable (CRT not accepted)
• MO or Compact license required in hand at time of consideration - license required if applicable
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, call, and holidays
• Experience with NICU/pediatric equipment such as CPAP, Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, and oscillating ventilators preferred
• ECMO experience preferred
• Experience assisting in high risk delivery preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers accepted
• Provide respiratory care to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients
• Work in a healthcare facility operating 24/7, 365 days a year, including during inclement weather
• Required to work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible; those residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
• Travelers can work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts (up to 9 months), followed by a mandatory 6-month break before returning to this health system
• Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
