Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with Level I Trauma experience for a 36-hour night shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience.
Details
- Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric populations
- 36-room unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
- 36-hour night shift schedule (3x12 hours)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Preferred experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Preferred experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
- Preferred experience with IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and continuous IV sedation
- Preferred neuro/trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Preferred experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Preferred pediatric trauma experience including head injury and near-drowning
- Preferred experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Preferred charge nurse, teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
- Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- Support ortho trauma cases as needed
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Previous perm staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
