Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit, with support for Antepartum, High Risk Antepartum, LDRP, and Mother/Baby areas
• Facility performs 100-200 births per month
• Patient ratios of 1:2 for Labor, 1:3 for Antepartum, and 1:3 for Mother/Baby
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Broad range of L&D procedures including vaginal and C-section deliveries, high-risk delivery assistance, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Charge nurse, teaching hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, IV therapy, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
• Support high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and neonatal care in the delivery room
• Perform fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart patterns
• Deliver patient education on breastfeeding, newborn care, and discharge planning
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted
• Travelers residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted prior to consideration, with no more than 3 days automatically approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
