Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level III Trauma Center requiring prior ED travel experience and a LA or compact RN license.
Details
- Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
- Level III Trauma Center with stroke certification
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:45-07:15
- Every other weekend required
- Epic EMR experience required
- No call-in shifts required
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared emergency events, requiring the traveler to remain onsite or serve as part of a relief team
Requirements
- Active RN license (LA state or compact) required in hand at time of submission
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI
- TNCC certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior ED travel experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Experience with a broad range of ED skills including trauma care, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, respiratory management, psychiatric emergencies, and pediatric care
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across adult and pediatric populations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
- Perform triage, EKG interpretation, splinting, and isolation precautions as needed
- Royal blue scrub color required
- Orientation held five days per week
- Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Facility does not accept local candidates and requires residence more than 65 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have been separated from the health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
- RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
