Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience and pediatrics experience for a Level III trauma center position with evening and night shifts.

Details

• Short-term acute care Level III trauma center with 252 staffed beds
• Works in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
• Uses Epic charting system (preferred)
• Evening (4x10, 14:45-0:45) and Night (4x10, 23:00-9:00) shift options, 40 hours per week
• At least every other weekend and every other holiday required based on department need
• Floating to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital as needed
• Free parking available
• Part of Yale New Haven Health System

Requirements

• Active Rhode Island license required to start; Connecticut license must be applied for/in process prior to submission
• License required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• CRT certification required; RRT preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required (1.5 years may be considered with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Pediatrics experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Skilled in drawing arterial blood gases
• Experience with airway management devices and suctioning
• Experience with intubation assist
• Experience with nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning
• Experience with ETT and NT suctioning
• Experience with tracheostomy care and management
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care services within adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemption
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible unless a local rate is arranged
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of requested time off can be auto-approved
