Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a busy 31-bed ER requiring EPIC experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Emergency Department serving all patient age groups, including pediatric and adult trauma, illness, and injury cases
• 31-bed unit utilizing PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR communication protocols
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Must be willing to float based on unit needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) required within 1 year of start
• PALS and TNCC preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience with neurological, cardiovascular, psychiatric, and overdose cases
• Experience with emergency medications and intubation
• Only AHA or American Red Cross certifications accepted
• References required, with one pending reference accepted to begin the process
• Drug screening must be completed within 14 days of the start date

Additional Information

• Provide critical care assessment, intervention, and stabilization for patients presenting with a variety of illnesses, injuries, or trauma
• Complete a competency-based orientation program to become proficient in Emergency Services patient care
• No specific scrub color required
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
• Former employees of any facility associated with this health system are not eligible for consideration, regardless of separation length
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for the local pay rate
• All requested RTO must be included at the time of consideration
